Phantom Body and other "Fake" res spells
Somone posted a thread calling for the monk spell "resurrect" to be made available to all players, but this could step on the class's role quite a bit, since res is one of its staples.
Instead, all classes could be given other more flawed versions of resurrection that fit the flavor of the class, so how about adding the following?
Nec: Soul Binding, death magic, 10e, 3 second cast 30 second recharge: Reanimates target party member, returning them to 40-90% health and energy. That party member cannot be the target of enchant spells or healing skills, cannot regenerate life, and moves at a 50% penalty until a proper resurrection spell can be cast on him. If a normal resurrect is cast on target, these penalties are lifted, and the target resurrects as if he were dead.
Mesmer: Phantom Body, illusion, 15e, 4 second cast, 20 second recharge:
Grants target dead ally an illusionary body. This body has zero hit points, full energy, -3 energy regeneration and cannot take damage. If the target is resurrected, reaches zero energy, or 5-20 seconds have passed, the illusionary body vanishes.
Warrior: Don't Give Up!, Tactics, Shout, 12 adrenaline: All nearby allies are returned to life at full health and energy. After 5-20 seconds, those allies die. The second death does not cause death penalty.
Ranger: Energy of Life(elite), Beast Mastery, Nature ritual, 5e 5 sec cast 60 second recharge: Create a level 1-8 Spirit. All dead allies in its range are resurrected at half health and energy. If the spirit is destroyed, or the allies leave the area of the spirit, they die, without causing added death penalty. The spirit dies after 20-130 seconds.
Anyone else have some unique res spell ideas that they'd like to see in game?

Werewolf - Rangers pet turns into it's master should the master die and the pet is lost for the rest of the round.
Transformation takes 30 seconds, giving the enemy some time to kill the pet.

Thats a very cool idea TS
I like that ranger idea, and maybe a different necro thing, although doing a skill like that for necro may give use to soulbinding

necro: zombification, enchantment death magic (elite)
target ally becomes a zombie for x seconds, moves 50% slower, and has health degen of 1, attacks at melee no matter what wep, whenever a enemy is attacked by a zombie, they get zombification hex, target takes 2 health degen for 10 secs everytime they get attacked by a zombie. If target dies with zombification, a lvX masterless bone horror is spawned from the corpse
50% failure with death magic at 7 or lower
costs 25 energy, 2 sec casting. 60 sec cooldown

If anyone besides monks deserve a reusable res it is necros. Adding this in the expansion would be an excuse to link something to soul reaping too.
I suggest the hp ranges 15-45% and mp 45-75% (based on lv 0..12)
cast time 6 seconds, recharge 30/45 sec - add some sort of weird negative function like all nearby party members become diseased for 15..7 seconds (ward range)
Other classes don't deserve such a res IMO.. unless it has much more serious drawbacks.. don't forget they can always go /mo

I always thought Vengence should have been a necro skill.

Considering the eventuallity of the spell I have thought the same thing.
It would make sense.

Here's one for rangers:
Reincarnation - Transfer the spirit of a fallen ally to the body of your pet. Ally retains skill set and attributes point but has the level and death penalty (if any) of the pet. The pet will not receive bonus from equirpments wore by ally.
With little energy and no weapon, a "possessed" pet won't be terribly powerful. The spell would be very useful for bringing back a dead monk though. And when a fight is lost, you could put the spirit of say a W/Mo into Fluffy and have him make a run for it. In any event it'd be fun to use.
